Getting Back To Semi-Normal

Well as normal as it can be here. About 2 weeks until I get home for a while and that is on the top of my mind lately.
Goint to have a BBQ this weekend at my Guest House for all my guys that did such a great job and working all the extra hours it took to do it.
Ive been able to get back to working on future projects again and that has been fun but I am so far behind not sure the days are getting any shorter yet.
Anyway just rambeling along...Will update you at another time. Not sure why I even typed this BS but it is here so it will stay....Later ....JB

The Christmas Dinner Crew

Christmas Dinner in Kabul

Not the same as being home but Ill be there in a few weeks.
Merry Christmas

Making the most of Christmas in Kabul

So to make the most out of being stuck here for Christmas I started cooking.

The menu will be simple because it is hard to get stuff here:
  • Turkey
  • Stuffing(Stove Top)...lol
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Fruit Salad
  • Green Beans
  • Baked a cake and put a Christmas tree on it
  • Cranberrys
  • Christmas pudding
Im sure there is more.
Here are some pics I took this morning of the tree and stuff

Merry Christmas Everyone

Grenoble France

I was in France at Digigram last month testing some new hardware and software. Here are a few pics from there.

This is a view from there office....Very nice place.

From outside the hotel in the center of Grenoble

Our Christmas Tree

I had to do it.....Thank god for the plotter

Been too long...I know

The last few months have been a zoo here. Since my last blog there has bee a lot going on.

  • I spent a week in Grenoble France testing new hardware and software
  • Hired a new Engineer
  • Fried an IT guy
  • Hired 3 new ones
  • Got our operation in Kabul mostly moved into the hew building
  • and have gone way to many days with out power

We are almost done moving into the new office. We have a few generators to get moved around yet and then we will be able to get all the Tech/IT offices setup. Seems like our areas are always the last to get done. We have to help everyone else but no one s willing to help us.

We moved in about weeks early because the old office flooded one morning so I made the leap and said we will move today. We had the network up and running in less then 24 hours and that rocks.

I'm going to be here for Christmas but going home for a month on the 14th of January. Cant wait to get out of here for a break...I need it and so does Kim and Kyle. I miss them so much but just try to keep busy with work to keep the time passing.

It has been quiet here lately since the elections have been over. Just a few problems in other parts of the country. We are all hoping this new serge will help but only if the US allows them to do there jobs and if the local army will ever do theirs.

I'm going to have a few people over for Christmas dinner. I'm cooking up a turkey, Mashed potato's, stuffing and some other things. Not really in the holiday spirit but will do it anyway. We will have a proper holiday season when I come home in Jan.

There are few good things in the works and hope they go through.

Not sure how much since this makes but I really don't care. Just babbling on.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all....Later JB

Things since the last blog

Here is a short list of things that have happened since I last updated this blog thing.

  • We still don't know who the President will be
  • We are looking to move our office
  • Cost extension has started
  • Greg has arrived in country
  • Weather is cooling off real nice
  • There has been a few bombs
  • We have been locked down a few times
  • I went to Pakistan to help them out
  • We have been in meetings all week planning the next years agenda
  • Maps, Maps and more maps....Still fixing my old assistants mistakes

I do have some cool pictures from Pakistan but as of now still haven't taken them off my camera. I will get that don't his weekend if I get some time to do it. I have been working way to much lately and haven't had tome to do even that.

On a sad note, Irfan my IT Manager lost his little brother in an explosion in Peshawar Pakistan last week. I know to well what is like to loose your brother but this was just another act of stupidity by the Taliban or who ever.

Hope all is going well with everyone....I'm doing fine. Ill be heading to France in a few weeks to do some equipment testing and it will be nice to get out of here for a few days. Then during thanksgiving Ill be going to Tajikistan for a few days and that will be nice too. Really wanted to come back to the states but can really use the tax free money too. Ill be home for at least 3 weeks around the 15th of January and i look forward to that so much.

Later JB

It's been a while

I know....Ive been doing nothing special lately but working away. This week I'm in Pakistan doing some work in our Islamabad office. The people here are great and it is very nice here. Everything is green and the drivers even drive in there own lanes. It is a nice change of pace after the hassle of Kabul. I have taken several pictures but forgot my cable to download them to my computer. So I will add them when I get back to Kabul on Thursday.

Later....JB

Just rambeling on.....Again

Had meatball subs for dinner last night and made french fries or as they cal them here chips. Was exhausted from another hard day at work and crashed at about 930. I know we lost power again last night but I couldn't tell you when or for how long.

Went in at 7am this morning and saw there was a lot of police all over town. Some of the guys that come in a little later got stuck in traffic for about 2 hours to get to the office. My guess is they are getting ready for another night of election announcements but who knows.

Wide spread allegations of fraud are slinging all over the place and the Electoral Complaints Commission has over 500 to go through that they say can effect the out come of the elections. They are saying it could be another 3-4- weeks before it is official if we have a winner or we will be going to a run off.

I better get back to work...Later...JB

Storming in Kabul

I got woke up at 11pm last night to a big bang in town. At first I thought there was a bomb in Kabul but a few seconds later I saw a flash and another boom....It was a huge thunder storm coming in. We haven't had any rain here for months and we made up for it last night. It poured all night and everything in town is flooded now. The power started acting up at that point too and then went out at 1:15am and is still out in all of Kabul now.

On the election front they are supposed to release the results for about 65% of the votes tonight and it should be a good factor in determining who will win or if there will be a run off. I can tell the local government is getting ready for it as check points have cropped up all over town again.

Ill post more later after I hear some of the results....Later....JB

Elections News...or lack of it

After 2 days of counting votes thy have almost 1 Million votes of the about 6 Million counted and Karzai has about 44% and Abdullah about 35%. This is after just 17% of all the votes that were counted. Everyday they release a few more and I hear it could change a lot....but in who's favor no one knows.

Went to bed early last night and slept great but just had a hard time getting up this morning. Wish I could of slept about another 3 hours, But such is life.

Work is going great but I have been so very busy getting ready for the next round of projects. I hope to have the most of it done in the next few weeks but I'm sure a surprise will come up to keep me even busier. I hired a new Engineer today and am hoping he will be here in the middle of September to take some of this load off me.

That's all for now...Later....JB

Another day in paradise

Well we are back to full swing...well some of us. The locals are working short hours this month so they can go home for Ramadan. So at 2pm they head home and we work on. Its kind of nice that they are gone and not coming in every 5 mins. But such is life.

We are still looking for a new office building and it isn't going to good yet. With all the election stuff still going on there is a lack good buildings on the market. So I think we will have to wait until the elections are over to get a good one.

The Karzi appointed Independent Election Commission is supposed to release the first of the voting results tomorrow and it will be fun to see what we get. There are so many accounts of fraud floating around like one voting district that had 200 people go to vote but they found over 1000 ballets in the box. The UN is saying the elections where a success so I'm sure they will find a way to cover it all up and make it one.

I asked on guy yesterday if he voted and if so for who. He said he did and he voted for Karzi. I asked why he thought Karzi was the best choice for him and he replied that Karzi has already gotten rich off Afghanistan in his first term that he thinks he will do something for the country now. And he went on to say if we elect a new President that he will have to make himself rich first. This way we avoid another 5 years of nothing being done for the country....Good reasoning....NOT

Later....JB

Back to work

Although the lock down was lifted on Friday I decided to stay at the house for a little longer. Just watched movies all day Friday and Saturday. Today I came to work at get all my computer equipment from the house back in my office.

Traffic was horrible today and it took me the better part of an hour to get to the office. Yesterday also marked the start of Ramadan. Here is a link for more info on this time here RAMADAN.

So work hours will be reduced so all the local staff can be at there homes before it is time to pray.

I'm so glad to be back to the office and get out of the house. I think we will have a second round of elections coming up in a few weeks so the fun could start all over then.

Anyways since I'm at work I guess I better get some done...Later...JB

No more lock down

The lock down was lifted this morning so we are free to move around town. But after being locked down for 3 days what do I do?

I haven't heard of any early election results yet but not sure it will mater anyway. Just like in the US we never get a choice better the chose the worst evil. Every new leader is as bad as the last one. I hope it will change under Pres. Obama. Anyone is better then Bush.

Well enough of my bitching....But i reserve the right to as some election results come in....lol....Later....JB

More of the same....

Went outside after watching BBC and CNN all morning and the city is still quiet. You can see a car going down the road from time to time, Kids are flying a few kites and that's about it. There is reported cases of violence against reporters and others around the country. Also lots or reports of corruption in the elections from all corners of the country. I hope it all works out but everyone knows it will not be a fare election.

Been working all day on some stuff for the next years projects and keeping an eye on all the sources I can to be informed of what is going on. Went up and played with Rosie for a short while and she is doing good.

Here is a short log of what happened this morning in Kabul. All not near where I live.

0645hrs, PD8, Three IEDs detonated in the Etifaq Mosque/Qalacha area. Two IEDs are believed to have struck the Abdul Habibi High School and the third, the Naswani Fadaye High School. Both schools are used as polling centres. No casualty reports.
0735hrs, PD5, Abrasani Area, two IEDs were reported. The second device was designed to target ANSF. No casualties reported
0800hrs, PD7, Saraki Wasalabad Area, IED against polling centre.
0820hrs, PD10, Sherpur Area, SAF exchange between political factions.
0855hrs, PD10, Qala Fatullah, Zarghoona Girls High School, Three individuals arrested by ANP following a SAF exchange.
0905hrs, PD8, Abdul Qadir Jialani Mosque, IED against polling centre.
1000hrs, PD8, Sayeed Noor Mohammed Shah High School, near ANP station, SAF clash between ANP and unconfirmed AOG.

Here is a good site BBC set up to monitor and get feedback about what is going on today during the elections. Afghans Go To Vote

Ill report more later...JB

Strang night

I went to the roof deck to have a cigar and in a city of over 3 million people that is always full of noise it was dead quiet. the only noise heard was Rosie barking and her echo off the mountains. You would hear and see the lights of a police truck going down a road once in a while. They closed the city down for all traffic at about 8pm and instituted a curfew for all people until the morning. The voting stations open at 7am and I'm sure the city will come back to life then. Lets just prey that it is only the sound of votes we hear in the morning.

Later....JB

Day 1 of the lock down

Today is the first of at least 3 days we are locked down in our houses. Woke up to hearing of rockets hitting the presidential palace and a police building. Later in the afternoon there was a car bomb that went off out on J-bad road out by a lot of the military compounds. Been here working from the house today and trying to keep a ear to what is going in in town

All the campaigning is over for the elections just have to wait and see who wins now. I keep seeing reports of how corrupt the elections will be. BBC says they sent an undercover local national to but voting cards and found it easy to do. If they ca find then you know the guys running for office have got plenty.

I hope everyone understands why I do this but also know every safety precaution available is available to keep me safe. And if all hell was to break out Id be out of here in a flash.

One of my housemates just got home and he said the roads are getting bad so the UN send all non-critical workers home.

Besides that is has been just a lazy day here in Paradise...Ill be safe...Later JB

New law in Afghanistan

This is amazing....Just shows how suppressed the people here are.

Afghanistan has quietly passed a law permitting Shia men to deny their wives food and sustenance if they refuse to obey their husbands' sexual demands.

Looks like we will be locked down for at least the next 3 days up to the elections and elections day. We are being told that Friday after the elections they will assess the area and determine what to do at that time.

There are 3 major players in the election and most people think there will be a run off between the top 2. You don't win unless you get 50% or more of the vote in the first round. So 2 weeks after the 1ST round of votes are counted it all starts over with the 2 top guys.

I'm thinking that no one will get 50plus% in the first round, and if they do someone will have to make big gains to do so. But what do I know...I'm just and Engineer...Later...JB

Boom and out go the lights

Yesterday was another sad day for Afghanistan. At about 9am a large bomb went off outside the gates to the ISAF and US Embassy gates. All the terrorist say is they are not targeting locals but all they kill is locals. I was in my room at the time and heard this load explosion from about 3-4 miles away. It sounded like someone slammed my door. I got up to see what was going on and open the drapes and say people in the streets pointing all over the place. I asked my chokedor what was the deal and he said there was an explosion. I asked where and he said he couldn't tell where it came from.

After about 5 mins I walked up to the roof and say the plume of smoke and turned on CNN and say where it was. I say the pictures on TV and realized Keith and I were there the day before buying some movies. All I can think about is all the little kids that are always outside of the gates selling jewelry to all the people walking in and out of the compounds. I bought a bracelet from one of them on Friday. I hope he isn't one of the kids killed in this senseless attack.

I sometimes wonder why I do this but also know what I do here is vital to freeing this country.

I hope Ill be more up beat reports tomorrow but just feeling a little down now.

Keep safe and talk to you later...JB

And out go the lights

Today started with a bang....not that kind but the transfer switch at the office went out. So we found some copper buss bar and fixed it all up. It took a while to do so everyone was standing around waiting for the power to go to work. I'm sure they weren't complaining to much. Had the rest of the left over BBQ for lunch. I wasn't able to figure out what the cook made for lunch today and I noticed not even the locals ate it. I wish we had a cook at the office that had a clue how to cook. If we did I think Id eat the office lunch.

I think Ill have to cook when I get home tonight. Only left overs are from when I went out last night and I might want to save them for lunch with the way this joker cooks.

Internationals here have to pay for there meals at the office but the locals get it for free. I refuse to pay for crap so I don't eat here. I think the system we have here is stupid but not mine to change. I would think if we charged the locals they would get on the cooks ass and make him cook good food.

Only got to 100 degrees today so it wasn't to bad. I think I might just go down the street tonight from the house and get a couple buns and make me a few hot dogs for dinner.

Looks like Ill be going to France in either late October or early November. Hoping Kim will come and enjoy it with me.

Ill talk to you later....JB

Just Another Day in Kabul

Its lunch time here I I'm warming up the left over BBQ. Didn't sleep very good last night because I think I was afraid the alarm wouldn't go off again. But at 5:30am it went off and I was already up and running.

Might be going to a going away dinner tonight but not sure as if Ill see if I'm up to it tonight.

Might add more after I eat....The microwave just went DING...and I'm hungry.

Later...JB

Opps....

I over slept this morning and woke up at 6:57am for my 7am ride to work. So I called transportation and said for them to send me a car at 8am. So I chatted with Kim for a few mins to wake up then off to the show and work.

Last night I made BBQ pulled port sandwiches. They came out pretty good considering pork isn't allowed here.

The fun part was finding buns to put them on. Irfan and I went to 5 stores to find them.

I better get back to work...Later...JB

Another Day in.....

Last night I made Red Beans and Rice and Brats. The beans ended up being a little spicy but that's a good thing. I had a little left over so it will be lunch today. I I'm feeling a Little hungry so I sent one of my techs off to go get some water melon for everyone.

I didn't know what they were called in local language so I had to get Irfan to translate for me. I have this one tech who is always eating so we call him the director of snacks so he will be getting the morning snacks for us.

The house is full now with all the house mates back in town. Elections are a few weeks away so we are going to be stocking up on food and water over the next few weeks just in case we get locked down. Heard UN people will be locked down from the 17th until the 24th.

So as you see I again don't have anything exciting to report but stay tuned....Later...JB

BLAH BLAH BLAH.....

I know its been a few days since I shared my oh so exciting times here with you. But haven't really done anything but work for the last week. Finished the maps as far I I'm going to take them until I get my new software in the next few weeks. Working on getting quotes for all the equipment Ill need over the next 14 months. I love spending other peoples money.

I got a new DVD player for my room but don't have any new DVD's. My boots have a hole in them I discovered so Kim is working on getting me a new pair. She is also send me some sweets to snack on and more importantly some more deodorant.

The talk around Kabul now is all about the elections and hoping they go smooth. So far Kabul has been spared from the drama some of the extreme parts of Afghanistan have seen.

Been thinking about where to vacation next. I think Kim and I have some more talking to do but I think the coast of Thailand would rock in late Oct. Weather would be great and its pretty cheap to stay like a king there. Anyway just one pick...Ill see what she says. Getting her on the plane will be the hard part I think.

Like I said nothing going on here but work.....Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight...Later JB

Dragging Ass Slow Day

After yesterday flying by so fast today is sooooooo sssssssslllllllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwww. Time is just creeping along. I worked on a few things and organized some files on the server. Waiting on return email so I can get going on other things. Gonna go to the computer market with Irfan the IT dude and get a few more hard drives so I can have more room to store stuff. Hope the evening is better then the day....Later...JB

Back to the GRIND.....

Well back to work today and the weekend just flew by, but don't they all. Just kind of sat around the house with the exception of going grocery shopping and getting a TV and DVD player for the living room. Worked out a few times and worked on some more mapping projects. Power at the house was off and on all weekend and had to run the generator a lot....but that's what it is for I guess. Only problem is the generator isn't big enough to run the who;e house so we have to go around turning of stuff when we run it.

I know this is a stupid and boring entry but it is what it is...Later JB

Power problem solved...I think

Well we got the 52 cent bill paid but it cost me $10 in taxi fares for my chokador to run all around town. So the 52 cent bill I didn't owe cost me another $10. But that's the way the scam works here....what a joke.

Last night all of us at the house had a small BBQ for ourselves. Got some good brats and roasted some potatoes. Sat on the roof deck and ate, had a few beers and smoked a good cigar.

As much fun as this was I was back in my room by 930pm and watched some Monk. Was so nice to sleep in my cool room and I slept in until just after 8.

I know this doesn't sound like a great night for most people but for here it is what we have.

Later...JB

Last Night sucked

Power went out at about 11pm and the first thing I thought was the damn power company cut my power again for the bogus 52 cents I owe them. So I ran outside to the street and the whole area was with out power. So I went back to be thinking we will have it back shortly. It was still about 90 degrees at that point. As you can imagine my room without any power and no fans yet mt prized AC unit got very hot soon. I fell back asleep and woke up at 230am sweating my ass off again. Got some water and laid back down until I couldn't stand it anymore. Woke the chokador up to start the generator. So at least I had fans to help out. When I left the house at 7am still no power. So much for the 24 hour power promised by all the powers to be here.

Later...JB

STUPID part 2

So I got home and my Chokador (House Boy) said he was running around town all day and the power company said we did pay our bills on time and we are up to date with the exception of the bill to cut our power. He explained that we still have to pay 26Afs even though we where not late paying or behind on the bill for them to cut the power off at our house. I'm sure you are thinking WTF too. So the Chokador went to the bank, yes you pay your bill at the bank then take the stamped bill from there to the power company so they can clear your cut off notice. But they close at noon and he got there at 12:05. Bankers hours here are sweet. So he said we have till tomorrow at noon to get the stamped bill back to the power company or we will be billed another 26Afs. Gotta love there thinking and system here huh?

Just so you know 26Afs is equal to .52 cents US. All this for 52 cents....lol

Later JB

Stupid People are everywhere

I'm currently fighting with the Electric Company here. They don't have a clue what is going on in there own company. I paid the electric bill 2 weeks ago and yesterday they cut off my electricity. So we went there and they said I didn't pay my bill....I showed them the stamped bill showing it was paid and they said I had to go to some other office and get a letter from them saying they stamped that bill....funny thing is the place that told me to go somewhere else is where I pay the bill...WTF. SO after one of my guys shows them the stamped bill from the other office they say there is a bill from 6 months ago that isn't paid. But I know it was and besides Ive only been in this house for 3 1/2 months. The owner of the house paid it and gave me a copy of it. So back to the house to get that stamped bill and off to there office again.

I don't think they know there left foot from there right in some companies here. Amazing they get anything done here, but then again I'm not sure they do get much done here.

Enough bitching, I hope they get this fixed soon. In the mean time I went to the power box next to my house and found the wires they unhooked and hooked them back up....lol. The lock wasn't even locked so I could get to it. Ill show them who knows more.

Cooked a big roast beef with mashed potatoes and carrots last night and had a ton of left overs so I guess Ill be eating that for another night. I don't mind it was killer good.

Ill post later with the outcome of the power saga....Later JB

A good nights sleep

Got the AC installed yesterday morning but didn't get a Chance to try it out until last night. I couldn't wait to get home and crank it up. After a bit the room was cooling off real nice. Fell asleep at about 9:30 and for the first time since I returned here I had to get the covers on me. I got such a great night of sleep and feel awake again. I was so excited about the AC I forgot to take a few pics to post here. Ill get some tonight. Hope all is going well in your lives? I'm just busy working on maps and getting ready to start the next phase of build outs here.

Talk to you later....JB

AC in th house....sorta

I went a got an AC unit today but couldnt get it installed untill in the morning. So now I have these 2 nice boxws that dont cool me off any but I know tomorrow at this time Ill be nice and cool if god wills. I spent the last 2 day on my computer redoing all the coverage maps for all 42 stations we have established and found lots of errors with them. Think I have them all fixed and cant wait to redo the population conts to see what we really cover. Well its bed time so Ill update the AC thing tomorrow...maybe even a pic or to. Not sure what Ill have to talk about after it is instaled but Im sure I can think of something....Later...JB

WOW.....What a busy day

Today was one of those days that just flew by as you discover one more problem and then another. Again today it is hotter then hell and I'm cooking in my room. Haven't been able to get an AC quote yet...Guess I just haven't asked the right guy at work to go get it yet. Another driver on the way home said he also knows a guy....so we will see.

Think I'll go to the Deli Dar Bar for dinner tonight so I don't have to cook. And the big talk of the town is that the AF government is going to start cracking down on the importing and consuming of beer and such. So everyone is stocking up. Even if you get caught drunk walking it will hold the same punishment as dealing drugs....what ever that is...after all Afghanistan is the largest heroin producer in the world so it must not be to bad. Unless your an international here. To me its no biggie.

Anyway that's all I have for today...Later...JB

Pictures from the training class last week

Here are a few pics of the training last week we conducted here. We had 11 techs in and taught them all about radio....Well we tried. They were a good group and we learned as much as they did I think.

Zookie

Found this picture I took at home and just think it is cool. She wanted in the pool so bad but just layed there watching Kim in the pool. Ill post pictures of the other dogs soon.
Looks like the tinting of the windows helped a little. If nothing else it is darker in my room so the sun doesnt come blasting in at 4:15am. Got a little more sleep last night but think the AC unit will have to be next.
Sure wish I had my pool here to cool off in. I kinka feel like Zookie there....She wanted in to cool off too.
I have to go to a training calss with a few of my guys here to learn how we have been doing the mapping here so we can continue doing it the same way or better.
Later.....JB

Todays stuff....nothing really to report

Today I left work early to get the windows in my room tinted and see it that will keep out the heat a little. I'm not sure it will help much but every little bit helps. If it doesn't work enough it will be HVAC time. The hot season is still ahead of us and it is already too hot for me and no A/C. One of my drivers has a friend that is in the HVAC business and says he can get me a good deal....he thinks...we will see.

To hot to sleep

Last night sucked again. It was so hot in my room and not a hint of a breeze to try to cool it off. I even went down to the living room to sleep where it is cooler but all I got was a few hours of sleep and a kink in my neck. That's 2 nights in a row for this, going to try to tint the windows in my room today and hope that will help a little if not looks like ill be suffering for a few months.

Kinda Lazy Day

Today was a lazy day for me. Went to the meat market and got some good finds. They had pork breakfast sausage and some brats. Pork is hard to get here so when you find it you buy all you can stick in the freezer.

As for this blog thing i rearanged a few things and added a comment box to the top and a way you can chat with me to the side. To chat with me just enter your name and send a message. If I dont reply and it says I'm online send a few more. It is a little slow so the first few might not go through. But once they start it will work great.

Just got done working out and time to go make potato salad for a BBQ I'm having here tomorrow for all my techs and IT guys to thank them for doing such a great job last week during the training we held.

Anyway as some loony toon guy used to say thats all folks.....for now anyway.

Pictures from around the house

I took these this morning after working out. In the pictures you will see the kitchen, Living/Dining room and the parking garage that doubles as a gym.

Tech Training Dinner

Tonight I hosted a dinner for the trainees and some of the staff. We all had a good time at the Herat Restaurant here. The dinner was good followed by local almond Ice Cream.

Panjshir in March 2009

These pictures are from a trip to the Panjshir Valley. The great Masood better known as the "Lion of Pahjshir" is from here and defended the Valley from the Russians and the Taliban untill he was Killed 2 days before 9-11. Below are pictures of the shrine being build for him along with some pictures of the valley. And one of me enjoying the view. You can read more about him by clicking on the link. http://www.massoudhero.com/English/lion.html

Lumpini Park fun video

This video was shot in a training session I did in Bangkok and we had a lot of fun doing it. We were told to have fun so we did. The quality had to be reduced to make it work on here but you can get the point. It was a park theat is used for exersizing and we also had to film ourselfs doing some exercizing too....Kinda of....

My room in Afghanistan

This is where I lay my head at night. I just got the 2 fur rugs the other day and they are so nice to walk on. But the fan is the most important thing in the room this time of year.

Updates

I decided this will be a good way to keep everyone up to date with what is going on with me while I'm in Afghanistan. It has been very hot here but cools of nice at night but not early enough to get any good sleep. Tired of sweating my A$$ off but such is life. Doing training for 11 techs this week from a few of our partner stations and that has kept my more than busy but enjoyable none the less.

Ill try to add things here every few days but dont hold me to it. I have a ton of pics and will also post more of them as I sort through them.

The Spa like conditions....lol
